Ramblers

Two Ramblers groups where members get together to enjoy a sociable walk and (optional) pub lunch and a chat.

Key details of the groups

Ramblers 1

Circular walks of approximately five miles are organised by members, from different locations, finishing at around 12.30 p.m. in time for optional pub lunch and a chat.   We plan to meet twice-monthly on Fridays, departing promptly at 10 am and returning at 12.30.

Meets

This Group meets twice a month, Friday, 10.00 – 12.30 (approx).

Once the walk details and Risk Assessment form have been issued by the Group leader, please email Christina Evans to book a place on a specific walk.

A summary of dates for 2025/26 are:

  1. Walks start promptly at 10.00 am.
  2. Walks are usually about 5 miles and require boots/rambling gear.
  3. For each walk, we will provide a Risk Assessment document. Please read this carefully and perform your own personal risk analysis to determine whether you are fit and able to attend this walk safely.  If you wish to attend, please email Christina Evans at least 24 hours before the walk as we need to limit the numbers of people walking to 30.
  4. Please register attendance with Christina Evans on arrival at the walk start point.
  5. If you plan to lunch at the pub after the walk, you must make your own reservation with the pub, unless other instructions are provided in the walk details issued by the Group Leader, or whoever is leading a specific walk.

Ramblers 2

A second rambling group similar to Ramblers 1, with local circular walks of 5 miles or less and an optional pub lunch/chat at the end.

Members are encouraged to lead walks and volunteers are always needed for this.

Meets

The group meets fortnightly on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, starting promptly at 10 or 10.30 am as advised and aims to finish by 12.30.
