Welcome to Farnham u3a and the programme for 2026-2027. Here you will find information about what our u3a is doing throughout the year in addition to the special interest Group activities.

Key dates for 2026 – 2027
Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, starting at 2.00 p.m. in the Barley Room at the Maltings before a talk by the Manager of the Farnham Museum.
After the talk there will be an opportunity to meet your fellow members and chat. Refreshments will be served.

Annual Group Leaders and Group Contacts Meeting
We are holding this meeting on Friday, 19 March 2027 – Group Leaders and Group Contacts will receive an invitation and are asked to reply letting us know whether they will be able to attend.
New Members’ Receptions
We are eager to welcome new members and hold receptions for them in the autumn and in the spring. New members will receive an invitation to these events, but as advance notice the first one is scheduled for Monday, 5 October 2026 and the Spring one for Monday, 8 March 2027.
Open Meetings and Social Events
Open Meetings
Each year we run two series of open meetings to which all members are welcome. These are held in the Barley Room at Farnham Maltings, which can hold up to 100 people.
- Monthly Meetings are held on a Monday afternoon and usually feature an external speaker.
- Theme Meetings are normally held on a Friday morning and the talks, usually given by u3a members, relate to whatever theme has been chosen for the year. In December, the Theme Meeting is replaced by an afternoon of festive celebrations.
The open meetings are free to all members except for the Christmas Event, for which you will need a ticket. We publish details of how you can obtain your ticket in the autumn.
The Third Age Trust also runs various events for members such as one-day workshops and summer schools. You can find details of these on the Third Age Trust website.
Quizzes
We run a series of quizzes throughout the year in the evenings from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. All members are welcome, whether you come as a team or as an individual willing to join a team on the night.
Cuppa-and-a-chat
We hold a monthly pop-in session in the reception area café at Farnham Maltings, where you can meet other members and exchange ideas, find out about what is happening in Farnham u3a, or just be sociable.
